ANNOUNCING ZAMANO - INTRODUCING M-BUSINESS
zamano, the first dedicated m-commerce (mobile e-commerce) solution provider in the U.K. and Ireland, today announces it's range of m-business services enabling businesses to harness the potential of the mobile internet. With annual European m-commerce transactions projected to be worth 20 billion euros by 2003, the zamano service offering will allow businesses to stake out an early claim in this nascent marketplace.
"It's the internet all over again, only this time it's going to evolve much quicker" explained Managing Director, Eoin Ó Ceallacháin. "zamano will provide an end-to-end m-business solution, from development of m-business strategies, to building infrastructure, to secure m-commerce applications and transactions. M-commerce while hailed by some as the 'Next Big Thing' is often criticised by others as over-hyped and as being too limited to ever really take off. Our view in zamano is that m-commerce will not only be a significant additional channel for businesses but also an entirely new evolution of the internet, allowing 'always-on, any-time, any-place' business transactions".
Along with co-founder Darren Ó Rodaigh, all Dublin City University graduates, Ó Ceallacháin's background is in IT in the Financial Services industry, with experience between them of financial institutions in Luxembourg, New York and Paris as well as Dublin. "Secure payment solutions are obviously important as part of our overall m-business solution, but our focus is much broader" commented Darren Ó Rodaigh, head of Business Development, "In zamano, we are focussing on overall value added m-commerce solutions. We don't re-invent the wheel. There are many good e-commerce security, transaction and application providers in the market. We bring together best of breed applications, integrate them and fill the gaps to deliver solutions that fit the requirement."
Focussing initially on techology companies in the UK and Ireland seeking to develop m-commerce sales channels, zamano is in detailed discussions with a number of London based companies, who are looking favourably on the zamano service offering and m-business methodology. "The problem at the moment is trying to keep up with the level of interest out there," claims Ó Rodaigh. "And of course discerning between those with an actual requirement for an m-business solution and those with an interest in what they have identified as a hot technology, but that are not yet ready to proceed with an integrated m-business solution".
