ZAMANO DELIVERS REVENUE PROTECTION SOLUTION FOR CONNEX

zamano, the leading innovator of mobile internet technologies has developed a WAP based revenue protection solution for U.K. rail company Connex. The solution automates the fare evasion system, allowing Connex to verify the identity of all ticket holders and reduce substantially the amount of revenue lost annually through fare evasion.
 

The bespoke solution links to an internal database and the electoral roll allowing Revenue Protection Officers ( RPO ) on all Connex trains to verify the addresses of fare evaders by conducting a search on a mobile device using as little information as a surname and postcode. This returns a list of matches of which the RPO can isolate to produce the correct match. Depending on the information received, the RPO determines what action is to be taken. This can take the form of penalty fares, prosecution or issue of a new ticket, which can be printed from the mobile device.
